Elegant and clean value for money rooms
The hotel is strategically located near Eastwood where great restos and a new shopping mall can be found. The rooms are comfortable, cozy and clean. Staff are helpful.

Affordable hotel in the heart of the city
Rating:8
i have to book this hotel because it's near my school and i'm from the province. the cost is affordable considering its location and breakfast is already included. i read reviews that it's ok, however, i didn't consider the noise. you cannot sleep soundly at the city view room. but still, i will come back. i will choose st ignatius view instead. good hotel service, great hotel location, safe, and free wifi!
Shopping Tip : very near eastwood

Near to business establishments, restaurants and shopping malls
I was in for work but because of Hotel 878, I was able to go around at night without fuss. The breakfast served was good and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It's great to go back to a nice but affordable hotel after a long day's work. Cons –

OK location, just a walk to the mall..
Rating:8.3
Light breakfast which is good for me everyday. Close to mall, walking distance.
Me and my fiancee enjoyed our 4 day stay there wince we had to take care of some things in Quezon city.. Close to the mall, around a 5 to 10 minute walk.. Would not recommend at all to walk to the mall at night though..Got a loft which was pretty good to me. Comes with a mini fridge and sink, we just went to the market and bought some groceries which was good for us..Would stay there again.. Cons - Its not a 5 star people, but for were its at, you can’t beat the price.
Restaurant Tip : Go to the mall down the road, forgot what it was called but its the only one down the street.. They have allot as in plenty types of restaurants and diffrent type of foods which was great for us

Inexpensive, cleanliness, free wifi
My main reason for staying there was supposed to be its proximity to the Eastwood City. Although it's kinda near, the area is not conducive for walking as the place leading to Eastwood from the hotel is quite isolated. So it could get real scary at night. The hotel itself was kinda surprising, in a positive way. The room was good, the bed was good too. And it has a sink in the room. Makes it feel like a studio suite. What I didnt like was that our window was blocked by a concrete wall, so there was no view, leaving to waste the usefulness of the terrace. Also that there were no slippers and the bathroom has no floor mat. So after taking a bath, the area near the bathroom door will be very wet. And this is compounded by lack of slippers. But it has hot water, coffee, and best of all, free wifi. Breakfast was so-so, but am not complaining at all. Could have been better, but all in all, a satisfying stay at the hotel. Cons - no slippers, no floor mat for the bathroom
Nightlife Tip : Eastwood City has become one of Manila's most exciting nightspots, what with its mix of yuppies and cool restos reminiscent of the old American diners. A trip to the nearby Padre Pio Chapel is also recommended.

Clean hotel; Upgraded with no additional charge; Good service, Free Wi-fi
When we arrived, the check-in counter staff informed us that the Deluxe city view room was all occupied so they upgraded to another type of room with no extra charge. The room was clean: white sheets, chic interior. However, the TV reception was not working properly and the water is not easily drained in the shower room. We went out for dinner and had some ice cream for take out. We arrived at the hotel and asked if they could lend us some spoon but they weren't able to accomodate us because they said that their cafe is already closed. We went outside to look for nearby stores so that we can buy plastic utensils, however there was none in sight. We have to take a cab to Eastwood just to get our spoon. After a good night sleep, we went to eat our breakfast. I asked for the menu but they just informed us that there is only one choice for our breakfast food. They only let us choose for the drinks. But the complimentary breakfast was still filling and the servers were very nice. Lastly, when we were on our way out, the guard was very accomodating as he was the one who called for a cab for us. Overall, we are still satisfied. We had the rest and quality time we badly needed. It is the cheapest in the area but you'd feel comfortable still. Cons -

I really enjoyed my stay here. From the outside it is hard to tell that it is a really nice hotel. Once you get greeted by the friendly security out front, you know you will have a pleasant stay. Free breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff was so nice. I would stay here again. Cons - location

Excellent and restful
I booked this hotel through www.asiatravel.com: P2000 for a standard room ('City view' ) but on arrival realising that these rooms would suffer from traffic noise from the C (Circumferential)5 Road adjacent with its flyover and offramp, I upgraded to a 'St Ignatius View' room for an additional P300 which turned out to be money well spent for excellent quality sleep.
The hotel has parking underneath and a drop-off facility in front of reception. Ensure that you download a map of the hotel as many taxi drivers have not heard about it.
Check-in was a bit slow.
The hotel has rooms off both sides of a long central corridor. My room, the 'deluxe', was the cheapest: there are also loft rooms and suites.
The room had a double bed which was comfortable: doona rather than top sheet (I prefer the latter.)
There was a generously sized table with one chair, and excellent (fluorescent) lighting throughout.
While there was no bar fridge, there was a sink with tap which is unusual: there were also kitchen cupboards, presumably aimed at 'balikbayans' as the hotel advertises a rate of US$875 per month for my type of room or US$1,000 a month for a larger, mezzanine-style 'loft room.'
The airconditioning was not split system and hence a little noisy although it did not disturb my sleep: it was efficient at getting the temperature down to 18 degrees.
The rainwater-rose equipped shower was a bit tepid but just acceptable: water pressure in the vanity basin was good with the shower having a good ledge for toiletries. A small bottle of combined shampoo/ conditioner and a toothbrush and tiny tube of toothpaste were the only freebies, along with two sachets of coffee (no tea.) Soap was a notable omission.
The television was a small LG model but had a good range of subscription TV channels including BBC World, CNN and local Filipino offerings. Australia TV was not on offer.
Breakfast (included) was iced tea; I then asked for a ham and cheese omelette but separate slices of ham and cheese with wholemeal bread arrived: not what I wanted. I was also given a bowl of oatmeal.
I obtained a 1300 hours checkout.
This hotel is professsional and keenly priced, but it is probably 3.5km to Araneta Center and further to Ortigas where MRT (rail - elevated metro) stations are located along with malls, so it is a bit isolated. It seems popular with foreigners. Pay the extra for a St Ignatius View room to get the best sleep.

good stay
Rating:8
clean, comfortable
This is a convenient hotel close to eastwood and easy access to many shopping centers. The breakfast was only average but edible. My friends had some problems getting all their wishes fulfilled and said they had problem with having free wifi in the room but we were ok with this. The rooms that are called "city view" have absolutely no other view than towards a huge highway in which trucks and cars are passing all night long. Thus it is definately worth paying the extra to stay on the san ignatious side. Hotel was pleasant for our use but in general quite expensive. I think one can get something similar in Manila with less money.
Restaurant Tip : Eastwood has plenty of restaurants and some nightlife and it is only 5 minute cab ride away (or 15-20 min by foot)

Good lacation and quite. Thought it is on a major road, you will not notice that inside. It is also lean.
The receptionist does make you feel very welcomed awith full face smile. Quick response when you need their help. The mall is just a stone away. I did not eat here and have nothing to say about the resturant. Cons - I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

A very good experience
Hi,
This was my second trip to Manila, first time when i had been to a hotel in Makati City where almost everything was close-by the hotel. This time my office has shifted to Eastwood city and hence i was put up in Hotel 878.
Neverthless, the good thing is that it is very close to my office just 5 minutes drive and hence very convenient, the staff over here is quite respectful and friendly. The dining hall is also quite good and the service is quick. Whenever i call them for something they are there to fulfill my request.
The best part is that it provides free wireless to its customers and the conenction speed is also excellent, hence people like me who cant stay away from the internet would love to stay here.
The experience would have been much better if they could have provided a microwave in the rooms [ am i asking for too much?
]
So conclusion, for people who spend most of their time in office and just come to the hotel for having a pleasant sleep and a very good breakfast should prefer Hotel 878.
Regards,
